MALASPINA CASTLE OF FOSDINOVO
“Sum mala spina malis, sum bona spina bonis”
The Malaspina Castle is located in Tuscany, at Fosdinovo, on a sand rock cliff and offers a magnificent view over the Tyrrhenian coast, the sinuous Magra river, the Gulf of La Spezia, Portovenere, the island Palmaria, the Cinque Terre and on special days, over the clear expanse of the sea, the Capraia island, the Gorgona island and distant mountains of Corsica. It was built by the Malaspina nobel family almost 1,000 years ago. Dante Aligheri visited the castle and found there inspiration for one of the most important part of its Divine Comedy.
The interesting story of the castle will be reproduced here, soon, so stay tuned to read it.
